Creating a restaurant menu |
A restaurant menu often changes according to the season, but it is expensive to use a commercial printer for a small number of menus. Desktop printing is an inexpensive alternative. Also, a menu limited to text may be unappealing, so photos or illustrations should be added, and the printing should be done with a high-quality printer. |
Use a digital camera or a conventional film camera to photograph the cuisine. Scan the film images into your computer with a Film Scan 200 or a similar film scanner. |
You can edit the images with Adobe Photoshop; a word-processing program such as Microsoft Word or Adobe PageMaker can be used for making the layout. If the menu includes photos, print it on a EPSON Stylus Photo series printer. If only illustrations are used, a less expensive color printer can be used. |
Good use of lighting is the key to making photographs of food look delicious. Warm colors appeal to the human appetite. You can also touch up the photographs on your computer to strengthen the yellow. |
